Seller Description
I enjoyed this historically based story about the early days of candid photography and the early days of “assimilation” of native Americans. Lots of examples of early photography included-32 photos . A fictionalized version of the Wanamaker Expedition to convince native Americans to pledge allegiance to the US and turn to white mens’ ways. Official photographers accompanied the expedition, but a young photographer, intent on showing the truth, is secretly taking and publishing candid photos at the same time. This is an advance uncorrected proof copy of the book published in 1991. Condition is nearly new. No creases in spine. Wrinkle in cover is a defect in publishing-see photo.
