Seller Description
Here we have the first 14 books in the Thomas Chaloner series of mysteries set in Restoration England, by Susanna Gregory. All books are hardcovers, with dust jackets, and many are former library books. As such, they may have library markings inside and out, and the hardcover boards may have bits of tape on them from where the mylar sleeves were removed, but all volumes are still very readable. A Conspiracy of Violence - slightly cocked spine, otherwise in excellent condition. Blood on the Strand - slightly cocked spine, otherwise in excellent condition. The Butcher of Smithfield - cocked spine, various library stamps inside and out. The Westminster Poisoner - cocked spine, library sticker on spine of jacket. Various library stamps inside and out. One rip in jacket has been repaired with book tape. A Murder on London Bridge - cocked spine, library sticker on jacket spine.tape residue on front of jacket, and one spot where the tape tore away the printed surface. The Body In The Thames - stickers on jacket. Library stamps inside and out. Cocked spine. The Picadilly Plot - cocked spine, library sticker on spine of jacket. Various library stamps inside and out. Death in St. James's Park - slightly cocked spine, otherwise in excellent condition. Murder on High Holborn - slightly cocked spine. Some library stamps inside and out. The Cheapside Corpse - dust jacket was laminated, and is delaminating in a few areas. Library stickers and price tag under lamination. Various library stamps inside and out. The Chelsea Strangler - Library stickers and stamps inside. Slightly cocked spine. The Executioner of St. Paul's - Library sticker on back of jacket. Slightly cocked spine, otherwise in excellent condition. Intrigue in Covent Garden - cocked spine, otherwise in excellent condition. The Clerkenwell Affair - some library stickers in end papers. Slightly toned edges on text block. I can't show every stamp and sticker in the photos, but they do show the overall condition of the books. They are predominantly free of any markings in the text block, other than the the library stamps and such, which are mainly inside the covers and in the end papers. Most of the spines are cocked, but all are still reliable and read confidently.
