His principal research concerns the history of moral and political philosophy, with special attention to the political thought of classical antiquity. Professor Bartlett has been recognized for excellence in undergraduate lecturing by the Emory student body and for excellence in teaching by the Emory University chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
