Robert B. McCall, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus of Psychology and former Co-Director of the Office of Child Development at the University of Pittsburgh. The Office of Child Development is an interdisciplinary research and service unit that specializes in productive university-community collaborations. In a career spanning more than 55 years, McCall conducted research on the mental development of human infants, developmental changes in mental performance, the prediction from infancy of later IQ, underachieving youth, the evaluation of community-based programs, longitudinal research methods, and the development of infants and young children reared in institutions. He is the author of several hundred scholarly books, monographs, chapters, and articles; textbooks; and books and articles for service professionals, policymakers, parents, and the general public. He has received several national and university awards for his research and public service.
