Seller Description
AUTOGRAPHED COPY of the memoir of an American hero. He was the first American astronaut to orbit the Earth. In 1998, at age 77, he was the oldest human ever to travel in space. He spent most of his life in public service, as a distinguished US senator and a veteran of 23 years in the Marine Corps. The signature was obtained when I contacted his office in 2005 to inquire if he would be willing to sign my book. His secretary graciously assured me that he would be happy to oblige. We made arrangements for me to ship the book to him, enclosed in another self-addressed box. The book has been kept protected ever since. This is a first edition, first printing copy with a complete number line. Clean pages with sharp corners on the boards. Spine bottom lightly bumped; spine top less so. Nice DJ with minimal edge wear. I’m happy to provide more pictures for anyone interested.#astronaut#NASA#government#history#autographed#signed#rare#collectible#nonfiction#autobiography (Shelf 6B)
