Robert Lawson / The Great Wheel 1st Edition 1951. First edition of this final children's book from Lawson, author of Rabbit Hill. The Great Wheel was published a few months after his death, and the copyright page is corrected to show his estate now holding the rights. The book went on to win a Newbery Honor the next year. This, a nicely preserved copy, is uncommon thus. 8vo, 188pp. Green cloth with stamped illustration of a ferris wheel and star, top edge stained turquoise. Beautiful, fine copy in like jacket with only a hint of rubbing to extremities. Original price of $3.00 in tact. The only issue with this book is the dust jacket. There is some wear and tear to it; but the book itself is in “like new” condition. Pages are crisp and clean, unmarked. Binding is very tight and all pages are intact.
