For a book 300+ years old (1704) it is in nice condition some fraying on cover and wear along the cover. Jean Joseph Surin was a French Jesuit Priest. He was known for his participation in the Exorcism of London, 1634-37, at which time he supposedly became possessed for 18 years. This book, published posthumously, contains a series of letters written in is later life. One theme he seemed to exhort was that life was to be led by the extraordinary spirit rather by the maxims of faith and obedience. Published 30 years after his death this is a second printing. Book is written in old French.
