VINTAGE revised edition 1976. I always thought this would make an excellent gift for a nurse or nursing student. Biography of the woman and her connection to the old Newark German Hospital. In 1901, she offered her life in yellow fever experiments to prove the disease was transmitted by mosquitoes. She volunteered to be bitten, came down with the fever and died in 1901. In 1952, the hospital changed its name to Clara Maass Memorial Hospital. Hardcover with clean, thick pages, no writing, no folded pages, no owner name, many photos and illustrations. A little edge wear to DJ with two small tears (1/8” & 1/4”). Oversized book measuring 10.25” x 7.25”, 112 pages. Ships in a box, protected with bubble wrap. (4F) (SW2)
