Asian Fiction in Asia is my category for fiction in English by predominantly Asian authors where the main cast is Asian and the story takes place in Asia. The characters think, eat, live, love, act in the context of Asian society and view their lives from an Asian perspective and lens.
This category is meant to be distinguished from Asian-American fiction (immigrant, multi-cultural, cross-cultural experiences) - for example, "Crazy Rich Asians" and "Snow Falling on Cedars"; and fiction about foreigners in Asia - for example, "The Russian Concubine" and "The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet."
