I read hardcovers with the dust jackets on (so no prints on the bookboards). I don’t tab pages. No notes or underlining. If I list the condition as new, it has never been read. I don’t put books face down, pages spread so bindings are in good shape (mass markets just bend no matter what). Our home is non-smoking and pet free.
