An unexpected purchase from wandering around in an independent bookstore – like the kind that you wouldn’t expect to see on the displays at the front of a Barnes and Noble but would be delighted to find a copy of its subject matter in the Fantasy/Sci-Fi section. This novel explores very pressing and timely ideas about solving the climate crisis. There’s some interesting elements: Unreliable-ish narrator/main character, utopian commune, complications of hope-chasing and activism playing more of a central role in the course of events. All in all, a great read for late Spring/Early Summer.
