For most of Yorkers Grand Central terminal is a crown jewel a masterpiece of design but for Clara garden and Virginia Clay Avery presents something quite different for Clara. The terminal is the steppingstone to her future. It is a 1928 and Clara is teaching at the lorded grand Central school of art so not even the prestige of the school can override the public to stay for a woman artist. Clara is single minded in her art. By 1974 the terminal has declined almost as sharply as Virginia Klea’s life dilapidated and dangerous.
