Spaceship To God, 3: The Spaceship To God was in a down period. The voyage had been going for a long time. Some said months, some years, one thought it had been only 13 days, but however they measured it, time was dragging and morale was dipping. Josh tried to stay above the issue but eventually the mood on the ship got so grim he felt it might lead to mutiny. After all, when things were not going well, who was going to take the blame? "God," Josh told the crew. They had gathered in the hall outside the cockpit, where only Josh was allowed. "What about God," demanded one woman, the navigator. She'd given Josh a lot of trouble about the Only-Josh-In-the-cockpit rule, claiming she had to see space to navigate thru it. "God is to blame for your discontent," Josh explained. When they demanded an explanation, Josh pointed out that God was omnipotent and omniscient. "He could make this journey end at any time," Josh said. "He knows how you feel." He wasn't sure they were buying it.
