The Winsted Wildman and Other Tales by Frank L. Wentworth with ephemera detailing authors life and death. Hardcover first edition copy published by Mercer Printing Company 1929. A very scarce and unique book that comes with a typewritten letter from the Winsted Historical Association containing Wentworth’s obituary as well as a newspaper clipping from the 1996 Winsted Journal featuring a biography on Wentworth. The book details among other things a sighting of a Bigfoot type creature in the Connecticut town of Winsted in 1895. Eye witness accounts and folk tales of the Winsted area make up the content. Very good condition copy. Very light staining on upper left cover board, light wear to spine edges, small ding to reverse board. Small chip inside cover seam, but binding and board are tightly bound still. Penned signature dated 1940 inside cover and penciled price along side owner sticker on first page. Otherwise a really lovely rare book with a nice gold gilt along upper page block edge.
