River Call Me Home is a beautifully written powerful story about fighting for and finding freedom, motherhood and family, providence and perseverance. Eleanor Shearer’s debut is a wonderful story that will have you feeling every emotion under the sun. I will be eagerly awaiting her next novel.

This book was so well written, I had to remind myself it wasn't based on a true story. I loved the characters. They had so much depth and their personalities were individually unique. The pacing of the book almost felt like I was reading a thriller.
