Ronnie lives in two places at once: as an unappreciated clerk in a small town grocery store and as a beloved bartender in a budding frontier settlement. He has never gotten on well with others in his coastal town filled with racism and poverty, while simultaneously being surrounded by cowboys and soiled doves living full, happy lives. He may be ringing up jocks from his old high school while he is breaking up a shoot out in his saloon. When he takes in an abandoned kitten and an injured horse, Ronnie slowly becomes aware that the worlds around him may not be exactly what they seem.
