Drawn by the beautiful cover, read for the deep exploration of coming-of-age amidst grief and death – but from the perspective of a high school senior who lost someone she believed to be the love of her life. There’s a light supernatural element that underlies the main character’s grieving process. Characters feel realistic, especially the teenagers, though it’s easy to feel frustrated with the main character at times. She will be a hit or miss with readers. But the way that the book ends — beautiful. This is a great early spring read as we transition into a season of new beginnings. This will resonate with anyone, especially young people, who grieved the loss of a loved one relatively recently.
