Tear Me Apart by J.T. Ellison TW: the book contains mentions of suicide, SA, and murder. Professional skier, Mindy Wright has the perfect life. The perfect parents, the perfect home, the love and encouragement from her family to chase her dreams, and fans who love and care about it. Until that all goes, literally, downhill when Mindy crashes and she goes from the highest slope to the lowest when, through her injuries, the doctors discover cancer is taking over Mindy's body, and they also uncover that Mindy's whole life has been a lie. Her parents aren't her parents, and her perfect life isn't as it seems. My thoughts: WOOOW! So many plot twists and turns. Some plot points were easy to guess while others were not. I really enjoyed the character development. I really enjoyed the slow transition from Lauren being the good-hearted, maybe overbearing, but genuine mom, to the antagonist, and back to feeling sorry for her. 9/10
