Seller Description
This is a lot of four antique volumes from the series The Works Of William Makepeace Thackeray: Volumes Two, Five, Seven, and Eight. They were published by P. F. Collier, but I could not find any date of publication. Based upon my prior experience, I would estimate these books to be at least 100 years old, likely printed in the late 19th or early 20th-century. Volumes 2, 5, and 7 are in very good antique condition, and the binding is intact for all three. There is some fading of the covers due to age and some light shelf-wear damage at the tops and bottoms of the spines. Volume 8, however, is in acceptable condition due to some unfortunate severe damage to the cover, and is in need of restoration. The leather cover design was essentially ripped off, leaving a board cover with damage on the corners - although the binding is interestingly still intact. The pages of all four volumes are clean, and there is no writing inside the text or margins. There are a couple stamps and a small amount of writing inside the covers of most or all of the volumes included.
