The Gideon Society, 2 I picked up the file folder I'd dropped when Mr Punch had taken such offense to my suggestion that we plead this one out, and pulled out several photographs. "They've got numerous photos, and some videos that I didn't bring but can get for you. The entire escapade was extremely public. What's your strategy for avoiding a conviction?" I offered him the pictures again. He stood a good six feet away, arms crossed in a sulk. He reached out his left hand, and the pictures were pulled from my fingers to float back to him. He gestured as if he was flipping thru them while his giant, invisible fists did all the actual shuffling. "Hard to tell it's me from these." I shook my head. "They've got fingerprints," I told him. They did, too. I had a set of 10 poster-sized fingerprint cards back at my office. Too bulky to carry here. "It ain't my job to figure out strategy," he said. "You're my lawyer. Do your job." "They'll send you to Avernus," I said.
