Seller Description
I bought a DVD player today. I feel like I'm regressing technologically, but that's not exactly true. I still stream movies and read ebooks and electronic audiobooks, but the tech revolution has made things more expensive and harder than they should be. It's hard to get e copies of books from libraries, but easy to get hard copies. Lots of shows and movies I'd like to watch are not available on streaming or are at a price which makes them ridiculous, and you don't really own a movie you buy online. Big tech was supposed to make things cheaper and more available, but everything is getting locked behind paywalls, and instead of opening things up it just added a whole other level of money to pay. So I get hard copies of books because they're easier to get and often cheaper, too, and now I'll get hard copies of movies that I'll just own and keep. And Apple or Google or Amazon can't come into my rec room and take the books back, and none of the rich tech bros get any richer off me.
