Outside has wear but the inside is smooth and clean. Disclaimer, because Pango is categorizing this as a kid's book: be aware that this book covers topics that may be triggering or too mature for some. It covers infertility, kidnapping, suicidal ideation, and 1 sex scene that is more suggestive than graphic. I loved it as a teenager (hence the wear) but as an adult, I now find it only heartbreakingly tragic. I do still think it's a good example of how to write simply, while conveying complexity.
