Seller Description
1970 21st printing. All in Japanese language. The book inspired the 1968 Hiroshi Teshigahara film “The Man Without a Map”. The Ruined Map is the story of an unnamed detective, hired by a beautiful alcoholic woman, to find clues related to the disappearance of her husband. In the process, the detective is given a map (a ruined one), supposedly to help him, but which turns out in the end to be more like a metaphor of the guidelines one should have in life. The story is told in a postmodern, noire style. This book has some damage on the slip case, including some chips and wear from a pricing sticker. It also has some slight fading. There are a few small stains on the outer portion of the pages. The book is protected by a transparent vinyl cover. An excellent collector’s item.
