He has also done graduate work at Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Karp is currently professor of music at SMU's Meadows School of the Arts and director of the National Piano Teachers Institute. As a clinician and adjudicator, Dr. Karp has traveled the United States from Alaska to New Hampshire, as well as internationally. He has been a guest conductor and commissioned composer for the New Hampshire Summer Piano Camp at Plymouth State College, and was recently honored with the establishment of the David Karp Piano Festival, which is held each spring at Kilgore College. In June 2002, Dr. Karp served on the panel of judges for the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs. Notes from the Publisher : Composers In Focus is a series of original piano collections celebrating the creative artistry of contemporary composers. It is through the work of these composers that the piano teaching repertoire is enlarged and enhanced. It is my hope that students, teachers, and all others who experience this music will be enriched and inspired. Thank ys/ackenion Frank J. Hackinson, Publisher#music#music
