The Confederate ironclad Ram Jackson Initially named the MUSCOGEE this 224ft. Ironclad was laid down at the confederate Navy Yard Columbus, Georgia, in 1862. Change in the design and deficiencies of iron for armor plate delayed the JACKSON completion, and she was still unfinished at the time of her destruction by Union forces, April 17, 1865. Remains of the JACKSON were savaged in the early 1960s and are on display at the Confederate Naval Museum, Columbus, Georgia.
