This book would be a fun bit of history to add to your shelf! It’s a first edition by Hank (Henry Hunt) Searls in the first book authored under his name (he used the pen name Lee Costigan for his first book, also published in 1959). Searls was an American author and screenwriter. For familiarity, Searls wrote the novelizations for the movies Jaws 2 (1978) and Jaws: The Revenge (1987). The author signed the book dated the same year it was published for actor John Qualen (“To a fine actor”). Qualen was an American character actor of Norwegian heritage who specialized in Scandinavian roles both in film and television. The only writing in the book is pictured, and is book character notes. We have samples of John Qualen’s handwriting on Google. What do you think - are the notes his? The vintage book is in good condition as pictured in great detail. Note there is one page tear that was taped (which was later removed). The page is readable and you can choose to leave it or repair it to your liking. All pages are intact and the binding is strong.
