First published in 1883, this novel of a mischievous prankster portrays a character with a Huck Finn-type personality yet with a mean streak. This is definitely a novel of its time-inappropriate by today’s standards. Yet in its time, Peck stories were quite popular. Many of these Peck books were made into early silent movies.
