Agnes Strickland was a British Historian and poet. This 8 volume set of first edition, published between 1850 and 1859 covers Scottish Queens from Mary Tudor through Sophia, Electress of Hanover. Volumes 3-7 are devoted to Mary Queen of the Scots. Overall the condition is good considering the age. The major issues are wear around the edges of the covers. Vol. 1 has the most wear on the cover, stain on inside opposite title page and pencil markings on numerous pages.
