During the Cold War, the CIA recruited ex-Nazis, including war criminals, as counter espionage agents to combat Communist infiltration. As the Cold War ended, some ex-Nazis became embedded in American communities and were forgotten. The U.S. public became aware of the atrocities committed by many of these individuals in Europe. This led to the creation of the Office of Special Investigations (OSI) and ‘Operation Revoke’ to expose these descendants of evil. The mission had been kept secret to avoid interference from other intelligence agencies. An experienced ‘Black Ops’ facilitator and Intelligence expert, Maximillien headed the operation.
