It's hard to imagine anything more beautiful than the love stories found in Julia Quinn's Regency romance Bridgerton series. From the fake dating trope in The Duke and I and the enemies-to-lovers trope in The Viscount Who Loved Me, to the best friend's brother trope in Romancing Mister Bridgerton and the friends-to-lovers trope in When He Was Wicked, it seems like Bridgerton has a love story for every kind of romance reader.


But the Illumicrate special editions of Bridgerton have had fans buzzing more than the latest Whistledown issue since they were announced. Currently, they are no longer available for sale on the Illumicrate website. Luckily for you, we know where you can still find a set being sold.

What is Illumicrate?

If you love special editions or are a book collector, chances are you've stumbled across Illumicrate. Founded in 2015, this woman-owned book subscription company sends members a hardback book every month with an exclusive design. The book typically has the author's signature, sprayed edges, or artwork printed directly in the book. Depending on the subscription package chosen, members will also receive additional merchandise, including tote bags, bookmarks, mugs, and prints.

The Illumicrate Bridgerton Set

When we saw the Illumicrate Bridgerton set, it took our breath away. Each cover features beautifully drawn designs that are important to the story, such as a masquerade mask for An Offer From a Gentleman and a stack of letters for To Sir Phillip, With Love. The spines of the book come together to create an image of Bridgerton house, with silhouettes of the Bridgerton siblings visible in the windows. All eight books feature sprayed edges, and The Duke and I is hand-signed by the author.


Illumicrate had a general sale for this highly coveted set on June 30th, 2022, which was preceded by a presale for their active subscribers. Due to the overwhelming demand, they offered a reprint sale in June 2023. These reprint sets are identical to the original except they are not signed. Then, in June 2024, Illumicrate made their very last sets available for sale via lottery, with the understanding that they will be completely out of inventory after this lottery sale.

Where can I buy the Illumicrate Bridgerton set now?

If you weren't able to get your special edition Illumicrate Bridgerton, that doesn't mean you'll never be able to find a set.
