Tyler Perry is an American actor, writer, producer, director, and songwriter. He is best known for creating and performing the Madea character, a tough elderly black woman. Perry has created several television shows, most notably Tyler Perry's House of Payne, and films, including the critically acclaimed drama Precious (2009). He has also written and produced stage plays, including the popular Madea series.
