Steven Naifeh

Steven Naifeh is an American author, artist, and attorney, perhaps best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning biography "Jackson Pollock: An American Saga," co-written with his partner Gregory White Smith. Born on December 19, 1952, Naifeh has a diverse academic background with a degree in Art History from Harvard, a J.D. from the Harvard Law School, and a Masters in Fine Arts from the Florence Academy of Art. Along with a successful legal career, Naifeh has written extensively on art and cultural subjects. Notably, he also co-authored "Van Gogh: The Life," a comprehensive biography of the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh, which has been highly praised for its meticulous research and narrative style. Naifeh and Smith's collaborative work on biographies and studies of historical art figures have earned them critical acclaim and a reputation for thorough, in-depth scholarship.
