Radu Florescu (1925–2014) was a Romanian-born historian and professor who gained international recognition for his research on Dracula and the historical figure of Vlad the Impaler. He co-authored the book "In Search of Dracula" with Raymond T. McNally, which delved into the life of Vlad the Impaler and the Dracula myth. Florescu's work was influential in linking the vampire legend to the historical Wallachian ruler. Besides his contributions to the study of Dracula, Florescu was also an expert in Romanian history and served as a professor at Boston College for many years. He authored and co-authored several books and had significant involvement in educational and cultural exchanges between the United States and Romania.
