Peter Yarrow is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who is best known as a member of the folk music trio Peter, Paul, and Mary. Born on May 31, 1938, in New York City, Yarrow, along with Noel Paul Stookey and Mary Travers, became influential in both music and social justice movements during the 1960s. While he is primarily celebrated for his musical contributions, which include co-writing the famous song "Puff, the Magic Dragon," Yarrow has also been a dedicated activist, participating in efforts to combat social inequality, support peace, and champion civil rights. Beyond his performance career, Yarrow has worked on television specials, children's programs, and continues to engage in various forms of activism and philanthropy.
