Oscar Williams (1900–1964) was an American anthologist, poet, and editor. Born in Ukraine and immigrating to the United States as a young child, Williams was particularly well-known for his work as an anthologist. Throughout his career, he compiled several widely read poetry collections, such as "The New Pocket Anthology of American Verse" and "Immortal Poems of the English Language." These anthologies helped popularize poetry with American audiences and often featured a mix of classic and contemporary works.
