Mary Shelley

Mary Shelley (1797-1851) was an English novelist best known for her gothic novel Frankenstein. She was a political philosopher, traveller, and essayist who wrote several novels, short stories, and plays. Along with her husband, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Shelley were part of a close circle of writers and artists who lived and worked in Europe in the early 19th century.
