Juan Gonzalez is an American journalist, author, and investigative reporter who is best known for his progressive views and his work on issues affecting the Latino and minority communities in the United States. Born in Puerto Rico in 1947 and raised in New York City, Gonzalez has had a long career in journalism, co-founding the Young Lords Party in the 1970s and later becoming a columnist for the New York Daily News. He has written extensively on topics such as immigration, labor, and racial discrimination, and his books include "Harvest of Empire: A History of Latinos in America," which explores the relationship between Latin American countries and the U.S. Gonzalez is also known for co-hosting the radio and television program Democracy Now! alongside Amy Goodman. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the George Polk Award for investigative reporting.
