James Campbell

James Campbell is an American author and historian whose work focuses on the history and culture of African Americans. He is best known for his book The Middle Passage: White Ships/Black Cargo, which won the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1991. He has also written several other books on African American history, including Songs in the Key of Black Life, The Year of the Hangman, and The African American Odyssey.
