Isabel Wilkerson is an award-winning American journalist and author, best known for her critically acclaimed 2010 non-fiction book The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration. She is the first African-American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing and the first African-American woman to receive the National Humanities Medal. Wilkerson's other works include The New York Times bestseller Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents and The Great Migration: Journey to the North.
