Helen Simonson is an English novelist best known for her debut novel, Major Pettigrew's Last Stand. The novel was a New York Times bestseller and earned Simonson numerous awards, including the 2010 Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction. Simonson has since published two more novels, The Summer Before the War and The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes.
