Alison MacLeod is a British author and professor of contemporary fiction at the University of Chichester. She is best known for her short stories and novels which explore themes of memory, longing, and the fragility of life. She has won numerous awards for her writing, including the Macmillan Silver Pen Award, the E.M. Forster Award, and the Hawthornden Prize.
